According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, free agent defensive end Dave Tollefson has agreed to sign with the Oakland Raiders.
The 29 year-old Tollefson is from Walnut Creek, CA–so in essence he’s going back home.
Tollefson was on the Raiders practice squad in 2007, he was then released and picked up by the Giants and ended up winning his first Super Bowl with them as a part of their active roster in ’07.
This past season, Tollefson was a free agent going into training camp and the Giants ended up signing him to a deal once Osi Umenyiora started his preseason hold out.
Tollefson is a solid player that can provide pressure as well as a sack here and there. He’s a great locker room guy that’s learned a lot from his time with Michael Strahan and Justin Tuck.
Update: Tollefson was signed to a 2-year, $2.5 million deal.
