According to Scott Bair of CSNBayArea, Raiders linebacker Miles Burris is only a few weeks away from playing after undergoing offseason knee surgery.
Raiders linebacker Miles Burris was expected to be a major contributor this season. He hasn’t even practiced during an agonizingly slow rehab from offseason knee surgery.
But he’s just a few weeks away from playing football again.
He was placed on the physically unable to perform list before training camp and transferred to the reserve PUP closer to the regular season. League rules state that a player on the PUP will be ineligible to play until after Week 6.
The Raiders have five weeks to decide if a player can return, but Burris said Saturday that he doesn’t need that window. He believes his knee is progressing well and that he’ll be ready to go when eligible.
“I’m feeling really good,” Burris said. “I’ll be ready to go when I’m allowed to come back.”
Burris had an impressive rookie campaign after racking up 96 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 interception in 2012.
