Raiders may not be in love with any quarterback prospect this year

Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle doesn’t believe the Oakland Raiders are in love with any of the big-name quarterback prospects in this year’s draft, which is probably why they traded for Matt Schaub.

Raiders head coach Dennis Allen, Olson and quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo have been on a nationwide tour of college pro days, seeing if there was a quarterback worthy of the team’s No. 5 overall pick in the draft. This week alone, they have traveled to see Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles and Derek Carr. It is safe to say that they are not in love with any of them.

Acquiring Schaub was certainly telling.  If the Raiders were going to use the fifth pick on a quarterback,  they would not have made the move to get Schaub because there would no reason to take a quarterback that high and not have him start right away.

Uhhh—I thought Reg and Dennis wanted to let a rookie sit for a year and learn the system and get adjusted to the pro’s.
