The Oakland Raiders will be forced to deal with a big dilemma this offseason at the running back position. It will be very difficult for them to keep Darren McFadden and re-sign Michael Bush. For salary cap reasons they will either need to let Bush walk in free agency or sign him and trade McFadden.
The best move in my opinion would be to trade McFadden because they would then be able to receive some draft picks in return. This would help them continue to build through the draft, since they gave up so many to get quarterback Carson Palmer during the season.
Let’s be honest, McFadden hasn’t been the most durable back in the NFL and the way running backs in the NFL are a dime a dozen, the Raiders could easily fill his role with someone else.

And Draft picks are Hit an miss, you would trade a potential superstar for a 2 and maybe 4th.. man get this clown of here.. Surly not a raider fan
Also, if we trade mcfadden we then have no run game, even though coach wants us (and we are) a run first football team, and put it all in Mr carson pick palmer, the turn over king?? i like carson but he needs a run game or he will throw picks all day, please get your head out yol a** thinking the draft is the Mecca for a winning formula.
trade him to get back coach Jackson. He gave more heart and soul than has been seen around raiders for years..
If you guys are stupid enough to trade ship him to NY and have fun with the draft pick who might just end up like that russell guy LOL
# You odnt know what you get with a draft pick a player like him you know what your getting
Franchise tag Bush, then keep DMC if he status healthy, Raiders will less the league in rushing and it’ll open up our passing game so this writer needs to concentrate on writing about fixing an awful defense!!!
If you get rid of Mcfadden you are,(to quote a 60′s term) Bush!
Sorry to disappoint folks but if we look at the productivity of McFadden and his durability we will see that as stellar as he is when he’s healthy he struggles with giving a full season of service. Look a his numbers over the seasons he’s been with us. Compare that to what Bush can do. With Bush and Jones we have a very good tandem in the back field. Unfortunately though I would love to keep McFadden and Bush we are in a horrible position with the salary cap and draft picks.
Tell him he needs to renegotiate his contract down or he’s gone. Bush had 977 yards in 10 starts. Mc Fadden is stictly a 3rd down back. No more no less. And with his health issues he’s probably only worth a 3rd roound pick at that. Cut him and pick him up cheaper after he clears waivers. No one would claim him and eat his contract.
