During Sunday’s home game against the Buccaneers, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning pretty much told the crowd to shut up while he was running his two-minute drill because they thought it would be a good time to do the wave.
“I’m all for excitement, but in a no-huddle offense, when you are calling something at the line, the quieter the crowd can be, it certainly is helpful,” said Manning, explaining why he gestured for fans to behave themselves in mid-wave.
It really makes me laugh when fans at some NFL stadiums don’t understand that the bes thing to do is stay quiet when the home team is on offense. Why would Broncos fans think the wave isn’t a distraction?
A Colts fan even tweeted that Manning shut down the wave in Indy when he was a part of the Colts.
@RapSheet as a 12 year season ticket holder in the upper deck I can tell you this same thing happened 8-9 seasons ago in Indy.
