Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has been very impressed so far with rookie safety Winston Guy during their offseason workouts. He’s indicated that they plan on using him right away this season.
“I really like this player,” Carroll said, per the Seattle Times. “I think he brings more than we had hoped at this early time. His speed is very good, instincts are excellent, he’s got a lot to learn to not make the boneheaded mistakes and things, but he’s going to play for us and be a part of what we’re doing.”
With Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas as the starting safeties, Guy will likely come in during certain defensive sub-packages as a blitzer or to help out in run support.
