Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll remains hopeful that defensive end Cliff Avril will be ready to go for their season opener as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury, per The Seattle Times.
DE Cliff Avril will also again sit out but Carroll also sounded optimistic he will be ready for the opener. “As of this morning he’s feeling better and we’re hoping he will be able to go next week, but we won’t know until we get there, though,” he said.
The Seahawks are loaded at defensive end. The problem is that Avril, Chris Clemons and Michael Bennett are working their way back from injuries.
