Despite the fact that Russell Wilson lost his first ever NFL start this past Sunday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had some good things to say about his rookie quarterback.
“I thought Russell battled,” Carroll said. “They pressured a lot, made it tough on us. But he hung in there, came back, and did a very nice job of getting back into the game in the second half.”
Carroll believes Wilson had a great game even though he faced a lot of pressure.
“They threw everyone hard at us,” Carroll said. “Considering how Russell was under duress, I think it was a great first game for him. It was not easy for him at any time.”
Wilson didn’t have a great game, but he also didn’t look like a train wreck. I still believe he’s the Seahawks’ best quarterback.
