According t Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has been meeting with former Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington in order to get a head start on learning Tony Sparano’s offense.
Sanchez reached out to Pennington since the NFL’s offseason program doesn’t begin until April 16th. Which means he would’ve had to wait three months to meet up with Sparano to learn the offense.
Pennington brought his old Dolphins playbook with him to go over the terminology with Sanchez. They’ve also held a few class room sessions as well.
Sanchez needs to bounce back in 2012 with a strong season, and learning a new offense won’t make things easy for him. By him making the effort to learn the system as soon as possible, it shows me that he might be ready to put the work in to validate the fact that he was drafted in the top ten of the 2009 NFL draft.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
