The New England Patriots added two veteran wide receivers on Saturday. Earlier in the day they signed former Colts receiver Anthony Gonzalez, who’s battled injuries throughout his five-year NFL career.
Gonzalez has only played in a complete 16-game regular season one time, and that was in 2008. This past season he was active for only eight games and didn’t record any receptions.
Brandon Lloyd on the other hand has put up some solid numbers over the past few seasons. Especially when he’s teamed up with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Lloyd flourished in Denver when McDaniels was the head coach of the Broncos and last season when they were both a part of the Rams.
Lloyd will give the Patriots the vertical deep threat that they lacked in 2011.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
