Arizona Cardinals’ cornerback Patrick Peterson just finished his third year in the NFL and is under contract for, at most, two more years.
Per the CBA signed in 2011, players are eligible for a new contract after their third year. With my amazing dot connecting, math-savvy mind, that makes Peterson eligible for a new contact. Peterson isn’t stressing out about it though.
Via Arizonasports.com, Peterson says he taking the patient approach.
“I’m under contract for two more years, so I want to continue playing great football,” he said before teeing off. “Whenever (GM) Steve Keim and (team president) Michael Bidwill address me and my agent (about a contract extension), we’ll go from there.”
“I am eligible (for an extension this offseason),” he said. “Of course I would like an extension to stay here for a while, but it’s a business so we have to wait and see what happens.”
I expect Peterson to see a sizable increase in his salary soon.
