“We are thrilled to be able to extend Jonathan for five additional years. He is a perfect fit for our organization,” Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said in a statement, per NFL.com. “He is a playmaker who can make the difference in games, and we have seen the impact he and DeAngelo Williams have had on our team.”
Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart signed a five-year extension worth $36.5 million and a max of $42.5, including $22.5 million guaranteed.

It doesn’t make sense for the Panthers to invest so much money in running back’s when they still need a number two receiver.
