According to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, the Carolina Panthers met with Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson this week.
The Panthers are looking for a back up quarterback behind Cam Newton, that can operate Rob Chudzinski’s offense.
Derek Anderson backed up Newton this season and when he played late in the season, it was clear that he can’t run the offense the way the Panthers need it to be run. They need more of an athletic quarterback like Wilson.
“You have to look at it in those terms and say, ‘How much does the offense change if (Newton) is in or if he’s not in?’ ” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said at this week’s Senior Bowl practice. “It’s one of those things that you’re going to discuss and talk about as we go forward.”

It will be interesting to see this cat in the Panthers current scheme. He could serve as a decent back up if the skills are there. We shall see..
