Packers TE Brandon Bostick admits he has to lose weight

Packers tight end Brandon Bostick reported to OTA’s weighing 270 pounds as he rehabbed from a broken foot that he suffered late last season.

“I have to get my weight under control, come back and my goal is to be the starter,” Bostick said. “I won’t settle for anything less. I’m going to compete and do everything I can to be the starter.”

Bostick would like to lose 10 pounds and get down to 260 heading into training camp later next month.  He plans on running now that his foot is healed.  He believes the weight us due to more fat than muscle.

“Probably more fat,” he said. “I haven’t been running. But I’m back now, full speed. Full go.”

Ten pounds in a month? This guy, working our in this heat with all the fat on him could lose 20 if he tried hard. Ya he hurt his foot but to put that kind of weight on is just not cool for a guy who needs to be fast on the field.
Hopefully he gets cut. We have replacements waiting to fill that spot.
