Packers sign a tight end

According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Packers have signed tight end Mathew Mulligan to a one-year deal.

A 6-foot-4, 265-pound fifth-year player out of the University of Maine, Mulligan has played in 16 games in each of the last two seasons.

Mulligan, 28, came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2008 before being signed to Tennessee’s practice squad and spending portions of the next three seasons with the New York Jets.

Mulligan signed a two-year deal with the St. Louis Rams last offseason after not being tendered a restricted free-agent contract from the Jets before being released last month.

Mulligan hauled in 8 receptions for 84 yards and 1 touchdown last season for the Rams.

Like I said before, Anything that will help the Pack get back. When I said anything that will help the run game, I was talking about him being a good run blocker, not so much being a WR.
