Packers reportedly trying to re-sign Andrew Quarless

According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel,  the Packers would like to sign tight end Andrew Quarless to a contract extension prior to the start of free agency.

Until they know for sure whether Jermichael Finley has clearance from their doctors to play again, the Packers don’t know what their tight end position will look like next year.

However, they apparently would like to solidify the position some with the return of Andrew Quarless, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday.

Quarless’ representative spoke with negotiator Russ Ball at the scouting combine and the two have been in regular contact, How deep their discussions have gone isn’t known and it’s possible Quarless will hit the open market.
