According to Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News, New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora isn’t expected to show up for next week’s offseason workouts.
Umenyiora is still unhappy about his contract and also isn’t thrilled with the idea of being a back up to Jason Pierre-Paul this coming season.
During the Giants Super Bowl run and after their Championship victory, Osi made it seem like he wouldn’t make his contract a distraction this offseason. It looks like he just can’t help himself. We don’t know if he’ll hold out again, but this isn’t a good sign.
By the way, the offseason workouts are “voluntary,” so he’s technically not holding out from anything.
