New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora is not only unhappy about his contract, but he’s not too fond of coming off the bench behind Jason Pierre-Paul either, according to Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Post.
“I don’t like being a backup, I can tell you that,” Osi said. “It worked for us last year, but I was coming of an injury or whatever. But I see myself as a starter in the NFL. I see myself as a Pro Bowl type player. That’s the way I see myself.
Umenyiora minds us that he “didn’t complain” last season, and “I’m not complaining now.” But he’s certainly not a bench warmer.
“I don’t like being on the bench. I’m not OK with that.”
To cap things off, it looks Umenyiora won’t be showing up for Giants offseason workouts either.
