Every April (May after 2013) NFL teams’ hard work and preparation culminate with the NFL draft. Every team hopes to snag franchise talents and just maybe select a Rookie of the Year level of talent. This is my offensive rookie of the year prediction.
My prediction for Offensive Rookie of the Year is Rams rookie WR Tavon Austin. Austin in the definition of dynamic and immediately has the potential to be Sam Bradford’s go-to guy. In the arms race that is the NFC West the Rams have added a terrifying weapon. Austin can be lined up all over the field and make plays out of the slot and even from the backfield. Austin’s potential is literally only limited by Offensive Coordinator Brian Shottenheimer’s imagination. Between exotic offensive usage and his abilities on special teams as a returner I would be surprised if Austin was held below double digit touchdowns. His big play ability makes him an appealing Rookie of the Year Prospect.
