The Oakland Raiders in tomorrow NFL draft do not have a first round but rumors been swirling the team may look to trade to get in there and pick up the prospect they really want and need.
Knowingly the Raiders most likely will not be able to afford to bring back Nnamdi Asomugha, they have to explore every option to replace one of the league’s premier cornerbacks.
Without a first round pick one open option leaves the team to possible trade up into the first round to grab a top flight corner.
The Raiders are very interested in Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith. Could we see a trade coming?
We know Al Davis isn’t scared to take a chance on a talented player with minor issues. Jimmy Smith could be the perfect fit to replace the Pro-Bowl corner Asomugha.
Still, leaving open the slight chance Asomugha may re-sign with the team. This weekend the Raiders may decide to move forward in a different direction.
Smith is a top ten talent that slipped in draft stock due to his character issues. He has the ability to step on the field on day one and make a receiver’s day a living hell. Quarterbacks tend to fear him and pass the ball to the opposite side of where he covering. He may just be what the Raiders need in the secondary.
Heck yeah! Do it Oakland. I would love to see Jimmy Smith, a talent from a the University of Colorado, in a Raiders uniform. It would be great for the Donk fans have to see him shut-down up their beloved team and Teblow wearing the hated silver & black!
