NFL says the Cowboys never violated any rules in how they handled Tony Romo’s back injury

Back in week 16 of the 2013 NFL regular season,  both Tony Romo and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones indicated that Romo already had a back injury heading into their matchup against the Redskins after further injuring himself during the game.

That of course made everyone suspicious that they were holding back from revealing Romo’s injury prior to the game, which would be a violation of NFL rules.

The NFL has investigated he situation and ruled that they won’t punish the Cowboys.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tells PFT that the Cowboys were informed last month that the league’s review concluded that there was no violation.

For whatever reason it sounds like the NFL didn’t feel like it was necessary for Dallas to have Romo listed on their injury report during the week leading up to the game.
