NFL re-issues bounty penalties

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, the NFL has re-issued their bounty discipline without any changes.

This now means that Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma will have to serve his season long suspension, Browns linebacker Scott Fujita will miss three games, Saints defensive end Will Smith will miss the next four games and free agent Anthony Hargrove will be out for eight games.

Some people believe there’s a chance the NFL will already count the time both Hargrove and Vilma have already served since they both haven’t been playing.

The NFL claims that some of the penalties have changes and plan on explaining themselves with a written statement.  As soon as we have an update, we’ll post it right here.

Update: According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the NFL has made some minor reductions with the bounty penalties.
