According to CSNWashington.com, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has been fined by the NFL for wearing Adidas licensed apparel during a postgame press conference after their week 14 win over the Ravens a couple of weeks ago.
Robert Griffin III has been fined $10,000 for his postgame attire following the Redskins’ victory over the Ravens, an NFL official confirmed Wednesday.
Griffin often wears a suit and tie to news conferences after games. But the Redskins’ star suffered a knee injury in that contest and instead wore an Adidas sweatsuit and t-shirt as he fielded questions from the media at the podium. Adidas is among Griffin’s growing list of endorsements.
NFL rules state that players cannot wear a competitor’s apparel during press conferences. In this case Adidas is a competitor of Nike which is the official outfitter of the league, which is why RG3 was fined.
