According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees sent an email to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday asking him if Sean Payton, Mickey Loomis and Joe Vitt can attend this coming Sunday’s game, so they can be in attendance when he attempts to break another passing record.
Goodell ended up granting Brees’ wish.
“I am excited for our team and for them,” Brees said in a text message to Werder. “It adds another element to what we hope to be a very special night.”
If Brees throws a touchdown pass this Sunday night against the Chargers, he’ll break Johnny Unitas’ consecutive games streak for throwing at least one touchdown pass. It would be his 48th straight game, he tied the record last week against the Packers.
It would be kind of funny if Brees doesn’t throw a touchdown pass.
