New Orleans Saints haven’t decided on a play-caller

With New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton coming back from a year long suspension and his interim putting up 28.8 points a game, the team still hasn’t decided who will be the play-caller this season.

Through NFL.com, Payton speaks on the situation briefly.

We haven’t worked through all that yet,” Payton said, per Mike Triplett of The Times-Picayune. “But Pete’s invaluable. His role will be significant.

This isn’t the same issue the Cowboys have where things look bleak no matter the decision. Peyton is one of the best in the league at play-calling. His replacement last year Pete Carmichael has also developed into a a pretty good play caller so it is a win-win for the team.

Ultimately I think the team will stick with Payton. As the popular saying goes “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
