Morris Claiborne not expected to play in the Cowboys preseason finale

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told the Dallas Morning News that “wouldn’t anticipate” cornerback Morris Claiborne playing in their preseason finale on Thursday night.

Claiborne, who returned to practice this week, hasn’t played in the preseason after he jammed his left knee in a training camp practice. Claiborne only played in two preseason games last year during his rookie season.

Garrett said he doesn’t expect many starters playing against Houston. Undrafted free agent Alex Tanney is expected to get most of the work at quarterback for the Cowboys on Thursday.

Right now it’s all about making sure the Claiborne as well as the other starters are ready for their opener against the Giants.
