Mike Wallace signs his restricted free agent tender
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace reported to the team facility today and signed his restricted free agent tender.
“Wallace reported to the Steelers offices on the South Side shortly before 11:30 a.m. and signed the one-year, $2.7 million tender he was offered in March. The Steelers never lowered or rescinded the tender, something they could have done since June under the league’s labor agreement,” wrote the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
“My teammates need me,” Wallace said when asked why he decided to report after missing nearly all of training camp. “It’s time to get ready for the season. I felt like itwas time to go. I’m ready to roll. I’m here. That’s really all that matters to me.”
Now Wallace will have the joy of learning an entirely new offense in just under two weeks in order to be ready for their season opener.
