Mike Shanahan says Robert Griffin III will play Sunday barring a setback

According to The Washington Post, Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan says that he expects quarterback Robert Griffin III to play this Sunday against the Eagles, barring any type of setback with his injured knee.

Quarterback Robert Griffin III will return to the Redskins’ lineup Sunday at Philadelphia unless he suffers a setback before then, Coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday.

Shanahan said doctors believe Griffin’s injured right knee will be healed sufficiently for him to play against the Eagles unless he reinjures himself in practice.

“If there’s no setbacks, he should be ready to go,” Shanahan said. Griffin participated fully in Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices.
