Mike McCarthy on Jim Harbaugh’s comments: “We’ll stay above it”

On Monday 9ers head coach Jim Harbaugh took a shot at Packers linebacker Clay Matthews Jr. for slapping Joe Staley with an open hand.

“I looked at it with my own eyes, I could see two punches thrown to Joe’s head. Well, one punch and one open slap,” Harbaugh said. “If you’re going to go to the face, come with some knuckles, you know, not an open slap.”

He continued, “I think that young man works hard on being a tough guy, he’ll have some repairing to do to his image after the slap”

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy took the high road.

“Clay Matthews is not a dirty player, by no means,” McCarthy said. “I addressed Harbaugh’s comments in the team meeting, and as always, we’ll stay above it.”

Good for McCarthy.  Not sure if I could hold back from responding to Harbaugh’s immature comment.
