Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren told the media that he believes they’ve found a special quarterback in Brandon Weeden. He indicated that he believes Weeden is prepared to come in and start right away.
“He’s as prepared to come in and start as any rookie I’ve seen in a long time,” Holmgren said.
Holmgren did say that Weeden needs “to show us” he’s ready to start
“He is gifted. There is a maturity level because of his age. He is a different rookie because of that,” We cannot go close to the first game and still have it going on,” Holmgren said.
Browns don’t plan on dumping Colt McCoy or Seneca Wallace, yet.
“Right now, the plan is not to,” he said. “Something might happen as we approach training camp.”
