Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Mike Adams to play left tackle, they’ve been using him as a tight end.
Adams was benched as the Steelers left tackle back in week four when he gave up three sacks against Jared Allen. Now he seems to be catching on at a new position.
“I think that’s a testament to him and his mental toughness to overcome some negativity,” offensive coordinator Toddy Haley said, via the Beaver County Times.
Head coach Mike Tomlin is also happy with what he’s seen from Adams so far.
“He’s doing a really nice job with what we’re asking him to do as a tight end,” said Tomlin. “I don’t want to equate that to tackle play. Obviously, it’s a different set of issues.”
