With a 1-3 start so far this season, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick isn’t sure if the front office will want him back next season.
Vick has only 12 games left on his current contract and has had a very good season so far despite the rough start.
“I think that’s solely up to the direction that this ownership wants to go in,” Vick said to The Inquirer last week. “Obviously, I love Philadelphia. I don’t want anything more than to bring a championship to this city.
“But the most important thing for me is to keep playing consistently, giving this team the best chance to win. It’s hard because . . . I think about my future, I think about me being on a one-year deal. But I don’t know what’s going to happen. I just want to win.”
Even though the Eagles took Matt Barkley in the 2013 draft, it will be interesting to see if they decide to take another quarterback high in next year’s draft.
You have to imagine that the Eagles will be ready to hand the keys over to a young quarterback they can build around for the future.
