According to Michael Gehlken of the U-T San Diego, Chargers’ pass rusher Melvin Ingram will be able to practice in two weeks.

Ingram, a first round pick for the team last year, tore his ACL during the Chargers’ second OTA session. He was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list at the beginning of the season. He’s been allowed to practice since week 7 but hasn’t been deemed ready to do so yet.
At 4-4 the Chargers still have hopes for the playoffs but they will need their defense to step it up. The loss to Washington on Sunday didn’t help their cause and with the Dolphins beating the Bengals on Thursday Night Football, the Chargers lost the second wildcard spot and find themselves in 9th place in the AFC.
Ingram will surely help a defense that is ranked 21st in sacks and 26th in overall defense. Having someone that can apply more pressure to the quarterback will also help one of the worst secondaries the team has seen in years.
