With Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker battling for the Tennessee Titans starting quarterback job, all preseason reports have indicated that the competition has been very close so far. At least until now.
David Climer of the Tennessean suspects that Hasselbeck has a nice lead over Locker at this point for the starting job.
“I suspect Hasselbeck is solidly ahead of Locker entering the final minicamp sessions,” Cliner wrote.
Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com agrees with Cliner and also believes Hasselbeck will be the Titans starter at the beginning of the season.
“Unless he’s (Hasselbeck) horrible in July and August, I can’t see how he gets demoted from the starting job, especially when the Titans’ first four games are against the Patriots, at the Chargers, against the Lions and at the Texans,” wrote Kuharsky.
I think Locker would do fine as the Titans starter, but it won’t hurt him to sit and observe a little longer.
