Green Bay Packers quarterback Matt Flynn could be the next back up quarterback to get traded since his contract expires at the end of this season.
When Flynn started last season against the the New England Patriots back in December, he played very well for a guy with no NFL starting experience. It was obvious that with some more reps and the right situation, he might be a legit NFL starting quarterback down the road.
While observing Flynn this past week against the Cleveland Browns he looked comfortable in the pocket and was able to lead the Packers’ second team offense to ten points.
One NFL scout was asked if Flynn has the potential to be a starter in the NFL.
“In the right situation, yeah,” the scout replied. “He looks sharp. He looked good against New England. Smart. Heady. Athletic enough. Very poised.”
The scout was then asked if he thought a team that really needed a quarterback might give up a first round pick for Flynn.
“I wouldn’t think so,” said the scout.
I’d have to disagree with the scout that a team would give up a first round pick for Flynn since he’s still very unproven at this point in his career.

Matt Flynn needs to stay exactly where he is.. Not many teams are fortunate enough to have someone as talented as Flynn as a second string quarterback.. He looks very comfortable in the pocket and when flushed he uses his head and doesn’t get spooked.. We are fortunate to have him on our team and I hope the Packer’s leadership see things in a similar light ..
