While the Raiders don’t have the NFL’s worst quarterback situation in the NFL, they’re also not in an ideal position on the other hand.
Matt Flynn is a solid player that is ideally a very good NFL back up. The problem is that he’s the Raiders starter right now and he wasn’t very impressive during Friday night’s preseason game.
Flynn completed only three of six passes for 19 yards and two interceptions.
He scrambled twice for 11 yards. Flynn also fumbled once, and through three preseason starts has completed 19-of-27 throws for 180 yards (6.67 YPA), one touchdown, the two picks, and two fumbles (one lost). Flynn has absorbed seven sacks in 34 preseason dropbacks. Whether it’s due to injury or a performance-based benching, Flynn isn’t long for the Raiders’ starting QB job.
