Detroit Lions quarterback Mathew Stafford hasn’t forgotten about what former NFL receiver and current ESPN NFL analyst Cris Carter said last month about Lions receiver Calvin Johnson not being an elite player. Of course later on Carter back tracked from his original comments.
So far this season in each of the Lions first three games, Johnson has caught two touchdowns in each game. And Stafford is wondering if Carter will be impressed with Johnson if he does it for a fourth straight week.
“Does anyone think 8 tds in 4 weeks will change chris carters mind about an “elite” receiver?
#megatron,” wrote Stafford on Twitter.
When it comes to former NFL players turned analyst’s like Carter, they’re terrible at judging NFL talent. That’s why they were players and not general managers.
