Marvin Lewis is “totally convinced” Andy Dalton is the answer

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton is now widely viewed by the public as a middle of the road quarterback, especially after Dalton played a big role in the team’s loss to the San Diego Chargers in the Divisional round of the playoffs. Despite this, head coach Marvin Lewis thinks Dalton is still the answer and says the team will be seeking a contract extension with him.

“As a football team we would like to keep to continue to keep our good, young players,” Lewis said. “The representatives from his side and our team will get together and try to discuss something. We feel good about what Andy has done the past three seasons and we have to continue to help him to continue to play better.”

“I’m very confident. And totally convinced. I don’t know how much more convinced and confident I could be with that. He is our quarterback.”

I expect the Bengals to at least bring in some competition for the fourth year player.  The Bengals have been one and done in the playoffs the past two years and I don’t think Dalton has what it takes to take his team to the next level.

I believe this will be the last year, hopefully, for Marvin Lewis. He is too much play with no results and treats the players easier than should be allowed. He is not firm enough with the team and needs to be replaced. If it was not for Mike Zimmer we would be going places with Colin Kaepernick and not sitting at home after the first round play in game. AS far as Andy Dalton goes he has proven for three years that he is just another Tony Romo, both of whom cannot go to the big dance. I do hope the Bengals bring in another GOOD QUARTERBACK and get some comparison with Andy Dalton. I would say at this point that Marvin and Andy seem like brothers in real life. I don’t see the Bengals going anywhere in the higher level while Marvin is the coach of the Bengals.
