Mark Sanchez on current QB competition: “I’m going to win”

There are two players competing for the starting quarterback job with the New York Jets. Rookie Geno Smith and veteran Mark Sanchez who also plays like a rookie. With head coach Rex Ryan starting of the season on the hot seat, many expect Sanchez to be sitting right next to him.

According to however, Sanchez isn’t worried about losing this competition.

When it’s a straight-up competition for the job, let’s roll,” Mark Sanchez said. “It really doesn’t bother me at all. It really doesn’t affect my confidence or anything like that. We’re competing for something. All right, I’m going to win. That’s just how I am.

Looks like Sanchez did learn something from head coach Rex Ryan: How to make boastful comments. If these statements turn out to be anything like Ryan’s statements, look for Smith to win the starting job.

Whoever ends up winning the competition will have an uphill battle leading the Jets to success this season. You can read the reasons why we think so here. Unless expectations are blown out of the water, regardless of the record, look for Sanchez to be cut at the end of the season.

Ryan isn’t on the Hot Seat even though the Media seems to always put coachs on this hot seat… Tom Coughlin would of been fired years ago before winning 2 Super Bowls as the Giants head Coach. You can’t expect to win the Super Bowl every year. I Mean HELL the OWNER told all the GM’s that if you want the job Ryan comes with it! I would think that shows he has faith in him. Rex Ryan brought this team back from being NFL Nobodies to 6 Playoff Games and in 4 years only posting one losing season DESPITE Sanchez at QB and NOBODY at WR. In 4 years the Jets have never had a Single Pass Rusher with double digit sacks and a complete lack of talent in the front 7 but he is still coached the #1 Defense then the #3 Defense then the #5 Defense and last year even after losing Revis managing to come in at #8 Defense. The former Regime couldn’t draft worth a damn the team is being held together by Ryan. If you fired your coachs after 1 bad year Guys like Bill Bilichic Tom Coughlin Marvin Lewis Mike Tomlin would of been fired or ran out of the league. Winning a Super Bowl doesn’t happen over night. The BEST Teams in this league Giants Steelers Packers Cowboys learned how handle coaches a long time ago and it takes time
