Mario Williams says he never wanted to become a free agent

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams told FOX 26 Sports that he never wanted to become a free agent and leave the Texans.

“I didn’t want to enter free agency in the first place, but it was a one-way door given to me by the GM to leave Houston, ” Williams said. “I want the fans there to know entering free agency was not my decision.”

Williams says he’s excited about this week’s game in Houston.

“I’m definitely excited about coming back to the place where it all began,” Williams said. “I have the opportunity to play against the team that originally drafted me.

“The way things ended, I definitely feel like it was kind of a rough and all-of-the-sudden goodbye. There’s some things that I’m definitely uneasy about, the final decision making that happened there. It was just the way it was handled.

“At the end of the day I’m just extremely excited to be able to be in this position and come back and play.”

I’m sure Williams misses playing in Houston now that he’s playing for one of the worst teams in the NFL.

I don’t care how much money the Bills would have offered me, Iif I was him I would rather take a little less money and play for a contender.
