Bears head coach Marc Trestman told reporters on Wednesday that he had a good talk with tight end Martellus Bennett after suspending him on Tuesday.
“I did [speak with Bennett],” Trestman said. “It was a very positive conversation. We touched base with each other, and I’ll just leave it at that. We did what we said we were gonna do, and that was talk yesterday.”
Reports have surfaced that indicate the Bears aren’t happy with Bennett’s practice habits and his verbal altercation with Brandon Marshall after Bennett slammed rookie Kyle Fuller to the turf during Monday’s practice.
