San Diego Chargers’ linebacker Manti Te’o is still not practicing and wearing a protective boot after spraining his foot in his NFL preseason debut against the Seattle Seahawks. With only a day before the team will face the Arizona Cardinals in their third preseason game, it appears as Te’o will be out for another game.
Status quo for #Chargers: Liuget and Gronkowski not practicing. Te'o in protective boot.

This third game is a crucial one for Te’o to miss. It’s in that game that the starters play the longest and this will be valuable experience that the rookie will be missing out on.
What’s worse for the team is that there isn’t very much depth behind their two starting inside linebackers. The current backups are Bront Bird and D.J. Smith, which for all we know might be good as Te’o who has only played a couple snaps in the first preseason game. Still, with about two weeks left until San Diego has to face the Texans on Monday Night Football for their regular season opener, the Chargers would prefer to see their second-round pick out on the field.
