Manti Te’o fully participates in practice, 3 of 5 starting OL don’t for Chargers

It’s week four of the 2013 NFL season and this is the time you start seeing team’s injury report start to grow and the San Diego Chargers are no different.

There was ten total players on the injury report as the team prepares to take on the Dallas Cowboys at home. Five of them did not participate in Wednesday’s practice

DNP: OL Jeromey Clary(clavicle), OL King Dunlap(concussion), WR Malcom Floyd(neck), OL Chad Rinehart(toe), and CB Shareece Wright(hamstring).

LP: C Nick Hardwick(shin), LB Dwight Freeney(not injury related)

FP: LB Manti Te’o(foot), LB Donald Butler(groin), OL D.J Fluker(concussion)

The fact that three of the team’s starting offensive linemen did practice and all of them find themselves on the injury report is troubling considering what’s left. If none of them can play the team will be left will a makeshift line and Rivers will find himself under constant pressure like he did for most of last year.

What’s good to see is that it appears that Te’o will finally make his NFL debut after missing the first three games with what the team called a foot sprain. Butler returning will also be a welcome for the team as he is the team’s best inside linebacker by far and is a rising star in the NFL. Freeney likely received a veteran’s rest day so there’s nothing to worry about there.
