The New York Giants notched their first win of the season tonight by defeating the St. Louis Rams 28-16. But it didn’t come without the cost of losing two receivers to injuries.
Both Mario Manningham and Domenik Hixon were forced to leave the game and neither player returned.
Manningham suffered a concussion at the end of the first half after his head slammed to the turf while making a catch down field. His status for this Sunday’s game against the Eagles is uncertain at this point.
Hixon injured his knee while making a great touchdown catch in the end zone. The extent of his injury is unknown right now. He returned to the bench with his knee heavily wrapped with ice.
Second year receiver Victor Cruz finished the game as the Giants number two receiver and played well.
