Louis Delmas week-to-week after undergoing knee surgery
According to Anwar Richardson of MLive.com, Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas underwent knee surgery on Tuesday to reduce the amount of swelling he was experiencing.
“Delmas underwent surgery on his knee yesterday in an effort to reduce the high amount of swelling he was enduring. After today’s training camp practice, Schwartz said he was not measuring Delmas’ return to the playing field in days, but weeks,” Richardson reported.
“We don’t really have a timetable,” Schwartz said. “We take every day, day-by-day. As that comes, we’ll start to make that decision as we get closer. Until then, we’re not thinking about anything other the next day and the next day after that.
“He’s not day-to-day. He’s a little bit more week-to-week. We didn’t go into it with any kind of agenda or timetable.”
Delmas has been an impact player since coming into the league a few years ago. All the Lions can hope for now, is for him to be ready for the season opener.
