Washington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher is scheduled to hit the free agent market this offseason and he’s indicated that he prefers to remain in the nations capital.
“I like playing here,” Fletcher said at the end of last season. “When I came here, I wanted to help establish a tradition of winning, get this franchise back to the Redskins of old. Obviously the business aspect [of free agency] has to be worked out and you go from there. But my first choice is to stay in Washington, if they want me.”
The 36 year-old Fletcher has played in 224 consecutive games, which is amazing for an NFL player.
Fletcher is the heart and soul of the Redskins defense and as they rebuild it’s important for them to keep him around to help their young players develop.
