Lions agree to a three-year $53 million extension with Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford will be a Detroit Lion through the 2017 season. The Lions signed Stafford to a 3 year, $53 million extension.

Stafford is guaranteed to make $41.5 million due in part to his new deal.

Stafford has thrown more passes than any other quarterback in the league in the past two seasons. He also amassed over 10,000 passing yards in the last two seasons.
