Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner appeared on Chuck and Vince Live on AM 1060 in Phoenix and gave his thoughts on who the Cardinals should target as their starting quarterback for the 2011 season. The two main guys he likes are Carson Palmer currently of the Bengals and Marc Bulger who will be a free agent this off-season.
He said the following about Palmer and Bulger.
“The thing I always look at putting guys in certain systems is, how does it fit what they have done in their career and how does it fit their skill set? If the Cardinals want to do what we did when I was there, I think Marc fits the bill extremely well. He is a very accurate passer down the field, he can read defenses, he understands the system they play there and can do those things very well.”
Warner is a strong believer that Palmer would flourish in the Cardinals offensive system.
“I think a guy like Carson Palmer would be tremendous in that kind of system.”
So far all signs have pointed to the Cardinals signing Bulger as a free agent once the lockout is over. But there is a possibility of the Cardinals going in a different direction.
