According to Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the hand laceration that Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones suffered back in week three against the Chargers has been hindering his performance on the field.
Even though Jones has been bothered by his hand, Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter says he’ll be more involved in the offense this week.
“Absolutely,” said koetter . “He still had eight targets. That’s a fair number; it just didn’t work out. Eight targets and one catch is not a good percentage. Julio’s hand is not 100 percent. Credit him for playing and running his routes hard.
“But there’s no doubt, [as] we’ve seen him in some earlier games this year, when he’s 100 percent he will be even more effective.”
After watching this past Sunday’s game between the Falcons and Panthers, I could tell something wasn’t right with Jones. I didn’t realize the effect his hand was having on his ability to make plays.
