Jonathan Vilma won't be ready for a couple of weeks
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, ESPN’s Ed Werder has reported that Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma won’t be ready to play in today’s opener as well as next week’s game.
“ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Vilma is a week or two away from being ready to play, due to a knee injury that at one point during the offseason took him to Germany for treatment. Thus, with the square-one suspension process possibly taking a month to be fully resolved, Vilma could get to play several games until his suspension begins again.
“If his suspension ever begins again,” wrote Florio.
Even when Vilma does come back, I’m not what he’s going to be able to offer besides inspiration. He’s been declining over the past few seasons and isn’t the impact player he once was.
